HFB Goes to New England!
This was the first time HFB took flight to do such a far away adventure. The lucky 7 boarded Southwest Airlines Wednesday morning for an amazing extended labor day weekend trip, pre-planned by our very own Lisa Potteiger who runs GenX Travel Club Baltimore!

After renting our Ford Expedition, our first stop was Jackson, NH. We stayed at a very cute B&B called Christmas Farm Inn & Spa which had an outdoor pool, indoor pool, hot tub, spa, and gym!

We met our hired trail guide then next day and did a great hike up Iron Mountain which had some incredible views! We ate on the rocks and took in the NH air and we observed the heights we just gained.

The next day we jumped in the truck for our next expedition which was for the Expedition to climb Mt Washington! We didn't have time to hike it unfortunately, so we cheated; but still, the experience was awesome. That is a tall mountain! Fortunately, we were blessed with perfect weather. Mt Washington is known for the worst weather on Earth!

After the Mt Washington we continued on to Woodstock, VT! What a beautiful place! We stayed at the Stage Coach Inn and immediately had to test out the Breweries, which were all in walking distance! We went for a walk to a close by river and jumped in for a swim and some rock skipping contests!

Saturday morning we got picked up by our trail guide Marina, with 4 Points Guides, and she was awesome! She was completely accommodating to the varying skill levels we had with our group for the strenuous climb we had that day at Camels Hump Mountain! We did 2,600' vertical to reach the sea level altitude of 4,400'. The hike was a great work out and beautiful Alpine trees covered the mountains peak. We were drenched in sweat and the thick fog and high winds at the peak made it very chilly compared with the 80 degree temps below! We did not get to see the views with the fog, but it was still worth it.

Marina, our guide, was also hired to take us to the brewery's after. No better reward! Sunday we were picked up again and drove to Smugglers Notch to hike Spruce Peak. That hike was awesome. Not quite as tough and we were OK with that!

The views were breath taking.

There was even a beautiful pond on top of the steep mountain! Naturally, we had to go for a swim!

We hiked down a different way, through some bare ski slopes where we had views the whole way down.

Our guide back tracked to get the van and come around to pick us up. Off to the breweries we went..and even found a distillery!

We were amazed at how fast the trip went and we sad to go. It was awesome. We made note that on the drive out from the airport we were all somber and quiet. But once we spent those 6 awesome days together our drive back was a totally different picture! We were singing and laughing together in the car the whole way! The bond that can grow through some pain and adversity, sharing some spirits together, and looking out for each other can not be duplicated.

I highly recommend looking into the trip we are planning for next year as soon as we post it! Cheers! >Blog post written by Realtor Brandon Swisher
